Pirates Attend Snowmelt Invitational

On Tuesday, March 25, the Pirates Track and Field team competed in the West Point Snowmelt Invitational. Nicole Kreikemeier brought home a gold medal in the 400 meter run, and Bryan Ruzek brought home a gold medal in the 1600 meter run.
Boys who placed include: Kurt Ortmeier 4th in the 200-meter dash, 24.7. In the 400-meter dash, Jacob Kreikemeier placed 2nd with 54.0, and Adam Ortmeier placed 6th with 57.5. The 1600-meter relay team (Chris Tomasek, Adam Ortmeier, Jeff Ruskamp, and Kurt Ortmeier) placed 3rd , with a time of 3:50.3. In the 800 meter run, Danny Hassler placed 3rd with a time of 2:14.7, and Chris Tomasek placed 5th with 2:17.2. The 3200-meter relay team (Danny Hassler, Chris Tomasek, Bryan Ruzek, and Mitch Hagedorn) placed 2nd, with a time of 9:34.9. In the 1600 meter run, Bryan Ruzek earned 1st place, with a time of 5:22.1. Jeff Ruskamp placed 7th in the 110 high hurdles, with a time of 17.3, and placed 3rd in the 300 Intermediate hurdles, with a time of 44.8. Adam Ortmeier tied for 5th place in high jump, with a height of 5’6. Jeff Ruskamp placed 3rd in the triple jump, with a distance of 38’8.25.
Girls who placed include: Nicole Kreikemeier 1st in the 400-meter dash with a time of 64.6, and 4th in the 800 with a time of 2:46.0. Christi Tomka placed 4th in the 400 with a time of 66.9. Callan Rolf placed 2nd in the 1600 meter, with a time of 6:23, and placed 2nd in the 3200 meter with a time of 13:55.4. The 1600-meter relay team (Nicole Kreikemeier, Brittnie Kreikemeier, Brianna Wisnieski, and Christi Tomka) placed 2nd, with a time of 4:33.0. The 3200-meter relay team (Nicole Kreikemeier, Callan Rolf, Dana Kluthe, and Christi Tomka) placed 5th, with a time of 11:20.1.
