Wayne State Indoor Meet

The first track meet of the year for the Pirates was at the Wayne State Indoor. At this track meet there is at least 14 teams all ranging from C schools to D schools. The boy’s 400 meter relay brought home a gold metal. The relay team consisted of Jacob Kreikemeier, Jeff Ruskamp, Adam Ortmeier, and Chris Tomasek. Also the boys’ 800 meter relay brought home a silver metal, the runners were Chris Tomasek, Danny Hassler, Bryan Ruzek, and Mitch Hagedorn.
Individual results for the boys: Alex Avilez received 4th in the 200 meter dash, 25.51. Adam Ortmeier received 2nd in the 400, 58.34. Chris Tomasek received 5th and Danny Hassler received 6th in the 800, Chris- 2:20.54 and Danny- 2:20.00. In the mile Jacob Kreikemeier received 1st with a time of 4:45.90. He also received 1st in the 2 mile with a time of 10:42.9. Jeff Ruskamp received 3rd in the 55m high hurdles with at time of 8.91. The 4x160 relay received 4th with a time of 1:23.56. The runners were Kurt Ortmeier, Joel Dirkschneider, Bryan Ruzek, and Alex Avilez. The 4x800 placed 2nd with a time of 9:34.2. The relay team consisted of Chris Tomasek, Bryan Ruzek, Mitch Hagedorn, and Danny Hassler. In Long Jump Alex Avilez received 5th place with a jump of 19’4.25 and in triple jump, Tommy Ruzek placed 6th with a jump of 37’0.75.
Individual results for the girls: In the 400 Christi Tomka received 4th place with a time of 69.54 and Brittnie Kreikemeier placed 7th with a time of 73.09. Nicole Kreikemeier placed 7th in the 800 with a time of 6:30.5. The 4x400 relay team received a 3rd place with a time of 4:45.38, runners were Nicole Kreikemeier, Brittnie Kreikemeier, Brianna Wisnieski, and Christi Tomka. The 4x800 received 5th place with a time of 11:18.1, the runners were Nicole Kreikemeier, Brittnie Kreikemeier, Callan Rolf, and Christi Tomka.
As you can see from the results the girls and boys did their best and brought home medals.
