Dr. Suess Is Celebrated

By Karen Ortmeier

March 05, 2009

The elementary students (K-6) at Dodge Public School had the opportunity to serve ”green eggs and ham” to the lunch room cooks on Thursday, March 5th. The week had been filled with fun activities highlighting the “Read Across America” celebration, which was originated by the National Education Association. March 2nd is the birthday of Theodore Geisel a.k.a. Dr. Seuss. It is celebrated by public schools across the United States.

Our cooks, Coletta Widhalm, Chida Wisnieski, and Lynette Faltin do an excellent job of preparing and serving delicious meals for our students everyday. The elementary students wanted to honor and thank them by serving them the special “green eggs and ham” that were featured with the character, Sam-I-Am in a story written by Dr. Seuss.
