LOCAL SPELLING BEE WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Dodge County Spelling Bee To Be Held in February

The annual Dodge Public Schools spelling bee took place on January 26th. Students in grades 5-8 participated in the local bee to determine who would represent Dodge Public Schools in the Dodge County Spelling Bee on February 20th, 2010. The local contest is a written contest in which the students are allowed to miss two words in a round. If more than two words were missed, the student was eliminated from competition. Mrs. Harsany served the spelling bee pronouncer while Mrs. Bazata, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Novicki served as spelling bee correctors. The local competition took three rounds and a sudden death round in the eighth grade to determine the winners. Representing Dodge Public Schools in the 8th grade are MaLeaha Semerad and Danny Widhalm. The 7th grade winners were Jonathan Laner and Lindsay Jaster. The sixth grade representatives are Tucker Luebbert and Echo Smith. The 5th grader headed to the spelling bee is Taylor Harms.
